A service-oriented business will require greater emphasis on the costs relevant to delivering the services whereas a product-oriented business will need calculations for inventory, the raw materials and finished goods available for sale to customer.
Normally, the financial projection is calculated for the next five years. It's better to make an integrated financial projection which includes the income statement, cash flow and balance sheets.
It's necessary to make detailed monthly projections for the first year or even two. In future financial projections may be limited by annual figures.
